2019 Military Pay Charts (proposed)

by MilitaryBenefits

2019 military pay charts based on a 2.6% pay increase as proposed in the FY 2019 Defense Budget. The FY 2019 rates were built by applying inflation assumptions to FY 2017 active Military Pay Chartscomponent rates. The basic pay rates reflect a 2.4% pay raise, effective 1 January 2018 and a 2.6% pay raise, effective 1 January 2019. The proposed pay increase still has to be approved by Congress and the President which typically occurs in December.

If approved, pay increases will be effective on January 1, 2019 and would be reflected on the first paychecks that go out on January 15, 2019.

Next Steps for a Military Pay Increase:

  • Spring/Summer – House & Senate Armed Appropriations Committees work defense budget
  • Fall/Winter – House & Senate pass the defense budget
  • President Trump signs the 2019 NDAA into law. The 2018 version was signed into law on Dec. 12, 2017 and the 2017 version was signed into law on Dec. 23, 2016.
