Montgomery GI Bill-SR (Chapter 1606) rates, as of October 1st, 2016 through September 30th, 2017. This year’s rates increased by about 1% from the previous fiscal year. Yearly inflation costs raise the price of education, so education benefits rise every October to keep up with inflation-driven demands. MGIB benefits are for up to 36 months of schooling, and one school year is about nine months in total, so benefits should cover up to a four year degree.
